Futura Adds 2 New CNC Machines
Aug 3, 2018
Due to increased domestic demand for fabrication and precision milling, this investment is an important part of Futura’s ability to continue to deliver responsive and reliable service and improved lead times. “These newer machines have the latest technology giving us better fabrication speed and reliability” says Futura Precision Parts Engineer Kenton Frandsen. The VF-6SS made by Haas is a high-performance Super-Speed vertical machining center featuring a 12,000rpm inline direct-drive spindle, an ultra-fast side-mount tool changer, and high-speed rapids on all axes.
The second machine, a Mazak FF-5000/40 is a horizontal high-speed machining center that provides accelerated axes movement during non-cutting times and higher productivity. The machine changes tools directly between the spindle and tool magazine increasing reliability.
Brent Steele, Futura Director of Operations notes, “These machines will give us much needed capacity and ensure that we are doing everything we can to give our customers the reliable and responsive service they have come to expect from Futura.”
