Jason Ward

Director of Operational Excellence

Prior leadership and industry experience (both within the organization and prior)

Over my career I have had the opportunity to work in multiple industries such as Communications, Tele-communications, Aerospace, Investment Casting and now Aluminum Extrusion with notable companies such as AT&T, Honeywell Aerospace (previously Garrett AiResearch and Allied Signal) The Doncasters Group and presently Bonnell Aluminum.

The focus of my career, training and education is Operations, Operations management, and process improvement. Working in these roles I been afforded the opportunity to have positions at all levels of Operations from an operator to Operations manager, from Greenbelt, Blackbelt, Master Blackbelt to Director of Operational Excellence. With a focus on the operation, it has given me the ability to be operate at all levels of management, including corporate operations, by focusing on improvement of production facilities using the Operational Excellence methodologies and data regardless of the industry.

Please, explain your passions and values

I am passionate about manufacturing and the critical part it plays in our economy; I never get tired of learning about the different transformation processes. I also believe that improvement is not driven by one but by developing the complete workforce into problem solvers for the organization, and everyone learns from each other. It starts with a safe workplace in all aspects and then challenging the mind daily. I have a passion for seeing others develop and realize their potential, it is watching the “light bulbs” come on as people realize they are capable of anything.

What about Bonnell Aluminum makes it a great place to work?

I like Bonnell because acts like a smaller company that is personal and cares about you, but large enough to have resources and opportunities. Bonnell constantly goes out of its way to create a special work environment and culture that allows people to succeed, be a part, and be included. The “culture” is absolutely unmatched to anywhere I have worked.

Personal interests (hobbies, talents, etc.)

I appreciate anything outdoors and grew up in scouting where I achieved my Eagle Scout rank. Fishing and yard work now are a particular enjoyment, and just generally enjoying all the gifts of nature. My get away is usually the Great Smokey Mountains and all the sights it brings.

Other interests are I am an adjunct instructor in the Engineering Department of Jacksonville State University in Alabama, DIY activities around the house, and refinishing antique items.
